MILES OF REMEMBRANCE
Photographing the places where service, sacrifice, and memory endure
WHAT IS MILES OF REMEMBRANCE?
Miles of Remembrance is an ongoing photography and storytelling project by Sellin Photography, dedicated to documenting veteran memorials, monuments, and places of remembrance throughout America.
Through photographs and the stories behind these memorials, the project seeks to honor those who served, preserve their memory, and share the sacrifices represented by these places with future generations.

Honoring Service. Preserving History. Sharing Their Stories.
Sellin Photography is proud to formally introduce Miles of Remembrance, an ongoing photography and historical storytelling initiative dedicated to documenting veteran memorials, monuments, and places of remembrance throughout America.
As a United States Marine Corps veteran and photographer, I believe these memorials represent more than monuments. They preserve the names, sacrifices, and stories of individuals whose service helped shape our nation.
Through photography, travel, and historical discovery, Miles of Remembrance seeks to create a lasting visual record of these meaningful places while encouraging others to remember and honor those who served.
The project will continue to grow as new memorials, photographs, communities, and stories are documented and shared.
REMEMBER • HONOR • PRESERVE
WHY I STARTED THIS PROJECT
As a veteran and a photographer, I've always had a deep respect for the places created to honor those who served. Over the years, I've found myself stopping at veteran memorials whenever I came across them—sometimes in large cities, but often in small towns and places I never expected to find them.
The more I photographed them, the more I realized how different each memorial was. Some were elaborate. Others were incredibly simple. But every one of them had something in common: someone cared enough to make sure the names, service, and sacrifices of others were remembered.
That realization became the beginning of the Miles of Remembrance.
This isn't about trying to photograph every memorial in America as quickly as possible. It's about taking the time to travel, discover these places, photograph them with respect, and learn something about the communities and people behind them.
“Because once these places—and the stories behind them—are gone, we can't photograph them later.”
THE MISSION
DOCUMENT
Photograph veteran memorials, monuments, and places of remembrance throughout America.
PRESERVE
Create a lasting visual record of these places and the names, stories, and sacrifices they represent.
SHARE
Bring these memorials and their stories to people who may never have the opportunity to visit them themselves.
THE JOURNEY
The ROAD IS PART OF THE PROJECT
Many of these memorials aren't destinations found in travel guides. They're discovered along the road—in small towns, public parks, courthouse squares, cemeteries, and places you might otherwise drive right past.
The journey is as much a part of Miles of Remembrance as the photographs themselves. Whenever possible, I choose the roads that take me through communities rather than around them. Sometimes a memorial is a planned destination. Other times, it's an unexpected discovery along the way.
Every stop adds another chapter to a much larger story—a photographic record of how communities across America remember, honor, and preserve the legacy of those who served.
MEMORIALS ALONG THE WAY
Every memorial has its own story. Some stand prominently in the center of a community. Others sit quietly along roads, in parks, beside courthouses, or in places few people outside the community may ever visit.
These are some of the places I've encountered along the way.

EXPLORE THE MEMORIALS
From small-town memorials to larger monuments, communities across America have created places to remember and honor those who served.
Explore the memorials I've photographed, organized by state. Each photograph represents a place, a community, and a story worth preserving.
As my journey with Miles of Remembrance continues, new locations, photographs, and stories will be added—building an ever-growing visual record of how America remembers its veterans.

SUPPORT THE JOURNEY
Miles of Remembrance is an independent photography and storytelling project by Sellin Photography, dedicated to documenting and preserving veteran memorials across America.
Every journey involves traveling through communities, discovering memorials, and photographing the places where service and sacrifice are remembered.
While opportunities to help support travel, fuel, and photography expenses are being explored, there are other meaningful ways to support the mission.
You can help by recommending a memorial, sharing the project with others, and following the journey as new photographs and stories are added.
Every recommendation, shared story, and word of encouragement helps keep the journey moving forward.
SUGGEST A MEMORIAL
Know of a veteran memorial worth photographing?
Help me discover the memorials, communities, and stories that deserve to be remembered. Whether it's a small-town monument or a memorial tucked away along a country road, I'd love to hear about it.
Every recommendation helps Miles of Remembrance continue its journey to Remember • Honor • Preserve.
